dance prize FAIL.

I went to a pretty big-of-a-deal dance competition yesterday on campus that hosted hundreds of dancers from Ballroom classes and Ballroom teams all over the area. (2 of my girls from Ballroom Camp were competing... they looked and danced beautifully, btw)

But what cracked me up was at the presentation of awards all the judges had put in their professional vote on who should win, the couples lined up in their fancy, expensive, sparkling dresses, and the award was given. It usually sounded like this, "And big congratulations to the winners of the first place in the Adult Latin Syllabus (something something something), Number 305 so-and-so and so-and-so. And for this competition they win.... a 4 foot blow up beach ball!"

Congratulations parents, you just spent 1000's of dollars over the years for dance classes and costumes so that your daughter could come stay here for a 10 hour competition and win a pool toy!




Because honestly, who doesn't want water noodles to carry home from a dance competition?!
